They are also important reagents in several Horadric Cube recipes.
Gems are small items you can insert into sockets in Chest Armor, Head Armor, Shields, and Weapons, to give extra bonuses. As you level in game, you will come across Gems, which drop off mobs, are found in containers, and can be rewards for certain in-game quests.
